On Saturday July 9 I attended the BANS OFF OUR BODIES rally at Springwood Park put together by the Asbury Park Women’s Convention., “APWC”, @apwomensconvention. I tip my hat to the organizers and speakers, women, men, bi, trans etc. from 17 to 85 united in a cause for dignity, kindness, compassion: to ensure a woman has a right to make a choice over her body and that people of all genders and preferences have the same rights.
These should not be difficult choices, and yet the highest court of the United States issued a legal decision that made these Constitutionally guaranteed rights precarious and unsettled.
The APWC brought together ACTIVISTS who use their talent, knowledge, and expertise in the field of music, visual arts, law, medicine, domestic violence and voting rights to provide facts and comfort to we, who are devastated and disheartened by the horrific Dobbs decision. We had a few hours to commune together and learn how we can organize and work together to restore inherent rights guaranteed by the Constitution.
