The marauders are at my door, but I shall never lay down my right to protect my property: MY BODY- not your body.
The GOP is the biggest con going. They will go to their graves screaming that an individual has the unfettered right to carry a gun because they need to protect themselves, their home, their family, their domain from an assault by the crazy person lurching in the wings ready to kill them at will. But when it comes to the closest most valuable property each individual has, regardless of sex, their body, the GOP wants to clamp down on laws controlling women and only women because they don’t have an appendage that hangs between their legs. A tale so old I cannot believe we’re here again.
And you know what’s really ridiculous in this argument is that a woman cannot make a baby without male input and yet if impregnation occurs because of a MISTAKE, only she bears the burden. That is unequal protection of the laws. There is no penalty on the father, he bears no responsibility. She is burdened with raising a child on her own with no support perhaps cutting off her own livelihood. There are more hardships but that’s a whole other infinite well of illogic to delve into.
Our Bodies, Our Selves, to crib a title of a book that had an impact on my adolescent self and its developing sense of sexuality, and thinking about the phrase today I see how true is it of all of us, our body is the physical manifestation of our self. Men, Women, Boys, Girls, Intersex, Transsex, or however one identifies, each of us is our body which is our self. We have have a right to govern the private parts of ourself. There should be reasonable limits, such as doctor advice after the first trimester freebie decision, but otherwise the right to protect my body as I wish is an inalienable right granted to me as a human being.
A clitoris is as sensitive as a penis. The only difference is the visuals- the dick is the extrovert, but he needs the introvert to make the baby. He can’t do it alone.
So hands off. Stay away. Keep out.
